shout out
i'd like to give thanks to my lovely wife natalie for being my cheerleader, caregiver, and absolute best wife that i could ask for. putting up with my mood swings along the way and keeping me grounded as needed. you literally doubled your housework load in addition to going to work AND taking care of me, you're the best ever. to my mom for being there for natalie and carting me to some appointments and just human contact in general. to my dad for keeping me in his prayers amongst other things. and to everyone else close to us for just being there, you all know who you are. did i mention my wife, she also had to literally wipe my ass for 2 weeks post surgery. a humbling experience if there ever was one.
PT has begun.
nothing exciting to report on this front. it was only an evaluation, the real therapy starts next week. i have been doing light stretching about twice per day since my last dr. appointment so i thought the evaluation would go smooth. wrong on that one...my flexibility is for shit still and the fact that rolling out of bed is a chore has hampered my recovery efforts. i will also be adding elliptical machine for about 10 minutes or so a day to work on my ass muscles along with hips to get them in shape. this was approved by my therapist as i should be further along in some areas, i'm better in some others though. i'll be going to therapy twice a week at the moment. see you all next week.
need to change the title of this
i really, really need to update at least once a week here. since my last post the holidays have come and gone and my follow-up appointment happened. basically my days have been filled with wake-up, feed the dog, pack wife's lunch, take pain meds and muscle relaxers, watch tv, play xbox, and repeat.
since the follow-up i take the same meds, just a little less and am able to......drive. this hasn't happened in quite some time so i drive to target since it's close and jump in a "my motorized cart, nobody else can have one". walking long distance is a no go along with my lifting nothing heavier than 10 lbs limits what i can carry (pack of toilet paper and package of pens anyone?).
